Eilean Donan Castle

A Hollywood movie favourite

Situated by the picturesque village of Dornie, the iconic castle sits on an island between three lochs, Loch Long, Loch Alsh and Loch Duich. A Hollywood movie location favourite whose picturesque mountain, loch and sea setting possesses a dream like quality, it has been featured in many popular films including the Highlander, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It is truly an extra special venue!

Although most castle weddings take place in the Banqueting Hall, there is also the option of the ceremony in the beautiful courtyard, by the water or with the Skye mountains as a backdrop, providing a dream wedding setting, weather permitting.

From April to October, weddings take place at the castle after 6.00 pm (as the castle is open to the public), while from November through March, couples can select any time of day, by prior arrangement. Eilean Donan does not provide catering and this can be organised externally (perhaps by the local hotel of your choice). Wheelchair access is also limited.
