Cawdor Castle

A fairytale wedding castle

Cawdor Castle, located 12 miles east of Inverness in the eastern heart of the Scottish Highlands dates back to the 14th century.

The castle exudes scottish history that you can touch, see and sense for yourself and was romantically linked by Shakespeare with Macbeth. Today it is still the home of the Cawdor Family and good furniture, fine portraits and pictures, interesting objects and outstanding tapestries are arranged to please the family rather than to echo fashion or impress. Due to it being such a splendid house, it is today the choice of many celebrity weddings.

Special features include the old drawbridge which takes you into the central square tower, the walled, flower and wild gardens, as well as the Cawdor Big Wood and the 9 hole golf course.

Accommodation can be provided for the bridal party on the estate at the 4 star rated Banchor Cottage, which lies nestled in the Findhorn Valley overlooking the picturesque River Findhorn. This secluded location is perfect for Brides and Grooms getting away to relax for their honeymoon. Alternatively , it also provides a great base if couples wish to explore the area more, with opportunities for salmon fishing, hill walking, a selection of mountain sports at the nearby Cairngorms by Aviemore, as well as sightseeing and touring.
