Argyll Wedding
Rachael Duncan and Darren Tarburn
Old Parish Church, Cathcart, followed by Dalmeny Park House Hotel, Barrhead
June 2009
Rachael and Darren were married in the Old Parish Church of Cathcart in the Southside of Glasgow. The day started off slightly drizzly but fortunately the sunshine soon came out and it was a glorious day.
The ceremony was followed by drinks on the lawn at the luxurious Dalmeny Park, Country House Hotel, Barrhead. It is an impeccably restored scottish mansion nestling in several acres of magnificient gardens. Rachael and Darren took advantage of the beautiful grounds, posing for pictures in the "Double Love Seat "as well as two beautiful white gazebos covered in flowering clematis.
The reception took place in the grand Roseberry Ballroom. A gold and white theme presided, with huge gilt mirrors, sparkling chandeliers and gold regal throne chairs. Lily decorations adorned the tables and the huge ivory sparklly three tier cake took pride of place in the corner of the ballroom.
Guests were entertained by "Soul Train" a lively, entertaining 4 piece band with both female and male live vocals. They played a mixture of older and new tracks ranging from Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison to Valerie by Amy Winehouse, with also a bit of Scottish Ceildh included! This ensured the dancefloor was packed all night!
After the bride tossed the bouquet, the couple retired to their honeymoon suite, complete with a magnificent, traditional, tartan draped, solid oak, four posted bed.
