Flying into Scotland for your wedding
There are 5 main airports in Scotland:
Inverness in the Highlands,
Aberdeen in the North East,
Edinburgh in the South East
Glasgow and Prestwick in the South West of Scotland.
Inverness airport is located at Dalcross - around 7 miles to the East of Inverness city centre. Flights operate between Inverness and London Gatwick and London Luton airports as well as to many of the smaller UK regional airports - ideal for a post wedding break in the UK.
Aberdeen airport is located at Dyce, around 7 miles to the West of Aberdeen city centre. Aberdeen airport connects with the 3 main London airports - Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton along with the smaller UK ariports, Europe and Scandinavia.
Edinburgh airport is again 7 miles West of the city centre at Turnhouse. Edinburgh airport has undergone rapid expansion over the past 20 years (20 new international services launched in 2009). Edinburgh airport connects with all 5 London airports - Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stanstead and City - most UK regional airports and has direct flights to and from Europe, the United States and Canada.
Glasgow airport is located 8 miles west of the city centre and Prestwick 30 miles to the south of the city centre. These westerly airports handle the majority of international flights into Scotland.
